Steve Nelson Appointed President & CEO of AHN, Inc

Today American HealthNet announced that Steve Nelson has been appointed President and CEO of American HealthNet, Inc. Mr. Nelson succeeds Gerry Brown, director of AHN, who continues with AHN as Strategic Business Director.
Mr. Nelson founded AHN in 1980 and has now well over 20 years of operational and managerial leadership in the healthcare software industry. Mr. Nelson commented, “I am honored to succeed Gerry Brown as president and to pursue the great vision that he laid before the company and now further provides to the Board. AHN has never had more strength and opportunity with its Clarus product to pursue the multiple marketing opportunities presented before us. The vision of AHN – to provide a truly integrated enterprise software suite for community hospitals – meets the needs of health care facilities both small and large. AHN’s native Windows product provides the power and flexibility of a fully-integrated native Windows solution enabling full use of Microsoft technology in the health care arena at a price which is very economical.”
Mr. Brown indicated that, “Clarus has grown and matured as a very attractive native Windows solution for the community health care market. We have invested several years and millions of dollars in bringing a product to market which provides a solution previously unavailable in the smaller health care hospital setting. We now have significant interest from individuals and organizations who manage groups of hospitals or who have a larger bed count. Clarus can easily meet the needs of these organizations at a competitive and attractive price.”
In Mr. Brown’s new role at AHN he will assist Mr. Nelson in the development effort to capitalize on new market opportunities. Brown stated that discussions are already under way with potential partners. Brown’s recommendations regarding the organizational changes announced today were adopted by the AHN board in a meeting held February 28, 2006.
