Overview

Clarus^® Order Management provides an efficient tool for placing electronic patient orders. Conflict checking focuses on patient safety with the tools like duplicate order checking and conflict checking. Medication Bar Code Administration provides another level of patient safety, by ensuring the right medication is provided to the right patient. Integration with modules like Billing, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Scheduling etc.

• Billing –To consolidate the charges with respect to the orders placed in OM.
• Laboratory – Tests ordered in OM are carried over to LIS module and the results are entered there.
• Radiology – Exams ordered in OM are carried over to RIS module and the results are sent back to OM.
• Pharmacy – Formulary items in Pharmacy are accessible in OM for placing orders.
• Scheduling – Charge consolidation for appointments created in scheduling is done in OM.

Features

• The home medications can be reviewed to be sure the patient remains on all necessary medications.
• Duplicate order-checking uses the duplicate checking time set in the Order Item file to determine if the order is a duplicate. The user is warned if there is a possibility of duplicate orders to prevent services from being provided that may not be paid.
• Code status, transport mode and diagnosis are available on order entry screen.
• The charge is created at the time the order is administered or placed, thus eliminating lost charges and increasing the revenue recognized.
• Test results are provided to the staff immediately from the ancillary applications.
